About Me

Jiaru Fu

I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Computer Science, and Statistics (GPA: 3.8/4.0). My research interest is in human-computer interaction (HCI), including technology accessibility, VR, interface designs and implementations. I am passionate about exploring different technology design process in various platforms, understanding human perceptions and cognitions, and how they live and survive in the future technological interactive environments. Over the past year, I worked as the main researcher in studying visually impaired people’s (VIP’s) perception of sensing technology, especially camera-based devices, around them. The paper was submitted to the USENIX Security conference and is currently under the second round of review. In addition to this research experience, I have also worked on VR projects and mobile interface designs and redesigns addressing different people’s disability issues and needs and interned as a Software Development Engineer Front-End Intern at Expedia Group.
